Notice Regarding the Power Outage Incident of Server Cabinets in Los Angeles
I. Event Overview
At around 3 a.m. (PST) today, a sudden power outage occurred in one of our cabinets located in Los Angeles (YY4), resulting in the interruption of services hosted by this cabinet and having a certain degree of impact on related businesses.
II. Preliminary Fault Investigation and Analysis
After the incident occurred, the technical team responded promptly and immediately launched an investigation into the cause of the power outage. The initial inspection found no obvious abnormalities in the initial readings of the power system. However, a random overload situation of the PDU (Power Distribution Unit) subsequently occurred. Through in-depth analysis, we speculate that this fault was most likely caused by a random power spike generated by an unknown device, but the specific source of interference has not been clearly identified yet.
III. Emergency Response Measures
To reduce the continuous impact of the power outage incident on business, we promptly took a series of emergency measures. Firstly, the critical equipment in the cabinet was safely removed to prevent equipment damage due to long-term power outage. At the same time, we actively coordinated on-site resources and urgently summoned a professional electrician team to the scene to conduct a comprehensive inspection and repair of the power system, making every effort to ensure that similar overload situations do not occur again and striving to restore the normal operation of the service as soon as possible. During this process, we sincerely thank our customers for their patience and support.
IV. Event Development and Updates
- 12 p.m. (PST): Unfortunately, after the previous power failure issue seemed to have been completely resolved, the power outage incident recurred, and the impact scope of this incident showed an expanding trend, involving a wider area and services. The technical team promptly focused the investigation on the CA2 area and fully investigated the potential causes that led to this recurrence of the outage to restore the stable operation of the system as soon as possible.
- 1:45 p.m. (PST): After further in-depth investigation and technical detection, we finally confirmed that a large uninterruptible power supply (UPS) suffered a downtime failure, and according to the current assessment, this UPS cannot resume normal operation. The technical team is currently on standby, closely monitoring the latest news from the supplier regarding equipment updates or repairs, and actively coordinating and communicating with all parties, making every effort to ensure that the overall service can be restored to the normal operation level as soon as possible and comprehensively, minimizing the adverse impact of this incident on business operations.
We will continue to follow up on the subsequent progress of the incident and provide the latest information notifications to relevant departments and customers in a timely manner to ensure the transparency and timeliness of information so that all parties can make corresponding decisions and arrangements.
